The Northeast North Carolina Medical Reserve Corps (NENC MRC) is a collaborative partnership between many agencies in
Northeastern North Carolina. The primary sponsoring agencies are Albemarle Regional Health Services, the Martin Tyrrell Washington Health District, Hertford County Public Health Authority, and Hyde County Department of Public Health, Dare County Department of Public Health. The public health agencies have joined forces to coordinate a 13-county Medical Reserve Corps to meet the community needs in public health and medical emergencies. The 13 counties these five health departments cover are as follows: Bertie, Camden, Chowan, Currituck, Dare, Gates, Hertford, Hyde, Martin, Pasquotank, Perquimans, Tyrrell, and Washington. Other key partner agencies include The Greater Albemarle Area Chapter of the American Red Cross, area hospitals, county emergency management, and the Eastern Region MRC.
The mission of the Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) is to improve the health and safety of communities across the country by organizing and utilizing public health, medical, and other volunteers.
